Description

As published on SAM.gov.

This is intended to be a 100% total small business set aside. 316 Civil Engineering Squadron (316 CES) Horizontal Construction shop is requiring carbide snow removal blades for a total of seven 20 ft plow heads. These carbide removal snow blades will be utilized on an Oshkosh H2723G1 with a Wausau Plow head Model: BMP 2050. The intent of new rubber carbide inserts is for better material to be utilized for snow removal operations.

The new blades will reduce damage to Joint Base Andrews’s airfield concrete and require less blade changes, boosting response times while lessening the manpower required for changes and potential safety concerns. Please see attached Combined Synopsis/Solicitation and Salient Characteristics for more specific information regarding this requirment.

Please see question below clarifying quantity required to fufill this requirment.

Question: Would you please clarify the quantity of snow blades? The description mentions "1 lot" but doesn't specify if this refers to a single blade or multiple blades for the seven Oshkosh H2723G1 plow heads.

Response: The quantity of carbide snow removal blades will depend on the size of the blades proposed. They can be multiple or single blades as long as the total adds up to enough blades to cover the seven plow heads and that they will fit the hole pattern and the other requirements stated in the salient characteristics. For example, if you can provide 20 foot blades that would cover the whole plow, we would only need 7. If they come in 4 foot segments, we would need 5 segments per plow, so the total quantity needed would be 35.
