This contract provides for research and development in the objective areas of aerospace physiology and human performance including aircrew protection, biodynamics, injury susceptibility and oxygen systems related technologies.
Specifically, the SHARC effort research will focus on ascertaining the influence of new air and ground vehicles, new protection gear and restraint configurations, and mechanisms of aircrew head/neck/spinal injury and restraint dynamics when exposed to acceleration stressors. Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson AFB. The work is expected to be completed by 3 SEP 2027. This award is the result of a competitive White Paper submitted under Open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) FA8650-20-S-6008.
