Tyndall AFB -Bear Proof Dumpsters

Notice of Award: Bear Proof Dumpsters This notice announces that Bearicuda Inc. has been awarded the contract for Bear Proof Dumpsters. This award was made following a competitive evaluation in accordance with the procedures outlined in FAR 13.106-2 and FAR 52.212-2, utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) under FAR Part 13. The evaluation of offers was conducted using the following factors to determine the best value for the Government:

a. Technical Capability: The ability of the item/service offered to meet the Government's requirements.

b. Price: Evaluation of price, which included the sum of all line items, inclusive of options, if applicable. Bearicuda Inc. submitted an acceptable quote of $104,310.00 for 18 units of 8 Cubic Yard Bear Proof Dumpsters. The quote underwent a technical evaluation and was found to be technically acceptable as it met or exceeded all required specifications set forth in the solicitation.

The Government determined that Bearicuda Inc.’s proposal represented the best value based on its compliance with the salient characteristics and competitive pricing. The following salient characteristics were critical for evaluation and award determination: 12-gauge hardened steel ribbed body. 1-inch drain hole on one bottom side wall. One 14-gauge hardened steel front-loading dumping lid with a mechanical quick-release system. Two latch access doors for customer trash disposal (Must have Paddle Latches included).

Skids, pads, lift pocket channels, rail stiffeners, and pocket gussets constructed of 10-gauge hardened steel. Hinge plates constructed using ¼” hardened steel. Powder-coated dark brown inside and outside. Dumpster lid and access panels integrated into the dumpster (not utilizing clips) to ensure positive activation of bear security. Delivery, unloading, and placement at Civil Engineering 6000 Storage Area.

The evaluation criteria, including technical capability and price, were applied in accordance with FAR 13.106-3 to ensure that the award decision aligns with the Government's interest in obtaining the required supplies and services at a fair and reasonable price. The determination of best value was made after considering all offers, ensuring that the selected vendor’s proposal provided the most advantageous terms to the Government. The award to Bearicuda Inc. ensures that bear-proof measures are upheld, thereby supporting secure and efficient base operations.
