MONEL Alloy K-500 Tubing

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for MONEL K-500 Tubing. THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPISIS. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIALLY QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (SMALL BUSINESS, LARGE BUSINESS, ETC.).

PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF A SOLICITATION, AS ONE DOES NOT EXIST. - REQUIREMENTS – The Government is seeking to identify qualified, experienced, and interested firms, who can provide the following requirement for Monel K-500 Tubing to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The Contractor shall provide:

Alloy: UNS N05500 (aka “MONEL® Alloy K-500”, “Monel K-500”); Fed Spec QQ-N-486G, SAE AMS 4676F.

Condition: Annealed, unaged. (Parts will be formed and age hardened after delivery.) Ref. https://www.specialmetals.com/documents/technical-bulletins/monel-alloy-k-500.pdf Form: Seamless tubing.

Length: Twelve (12) stock lengths, each 12 ft (+/- 2 in.). Approx. 144 ft (total length). Outside diameter: 2 in. (+/- 0.010 in.), Ref. ASTM B163-22 Table 2; ASTM B165-19 Table 3. Wall thickness: 0.5 in. nominal (+/- 10%), Ref. ASTM B163-22 Table 2;

ASTM B165-19 Table 3. Finish: As drawn.

Testing: Mechanical requirements demonstration as per QQ-N-486G, Sections 4.3.2.2 and 4.3.2.2.1 Marking: Marking for shipment shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129. Material Test Report to be provided with shipment.

Anticipated Delivery: On or Before 19 May 2025 FOB Destination Edwards AFB, CA 93524. Interested contractors who believe they can fulfill all specifications of this requirement as described above are invited to submit capability statements. Please see the attached RFI for further details.
