The HESCO MIL 10 is a multi-cellular, geotextile-lined welded mesh barrier system. It is shipped flat-packed on pallets and can be mechanically pulled open and filled with locally sourced materials (earth, sand, gravel, or crushed rock) using standard engineering equipment (such as a front-end loader).
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Unit Configuration: Multi-cellular, accordion/flat-pack design connected via heavy-duty helical/spiral jointing pins, allowing rapid mechanical deployment and filling via standard engineering equipment (front-end loader/excavator).
• Nominal Dimensions (Expanded per Unit):
- Height: Approximately 2.21 meters (7 ft 3 in)
- Width: Approximately 1.52 meters (5 ft 0 in)
- Length: Approximately 30.5 meters (100 ft 0 in)
• Wire Mesh Construction: Welded wire mesh manufactured from high-tensile steel wire with a nominal thickness between 4.0 mm and 4.88 mm (6 to 8 Gauge).
• Mesh Aperture/Grid: Nominal 76.2 mm x 76.2 mm (3 in x 3 in) spacing.
• Corrosion Protection: Steel wire must be coated with Galfan (Zinc-Aluminum alloy) or Hot-Dipped Galvanized to withstand severe outdoor and maritime exposure without structural degradation.
• Geotextile Liner: Heavy-duty, UV-stabilized, permeable, non-woven polypropylene geotextile fabric (minimum 250 g/m² weight) designed to retain earth/sand/gravel fill while permitting natural water drainage.
• Color Options: Standard Military Tan/Beige or Olive Drab Green.
• Logistical Packaging: Units must be shipped fully assembled, compressed, flat-packed on standard commercial/military-compatible pallets, and banded to prevent shifting during multimodal transport.
