Notice of Intent to Limit Sources for Access Control System Installation

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price purchase order for Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compliant access control systems from Lenel authorized resellers/installers. Utilizing the authority at FAR 13.106-1(b)(i) and FAR 6.302-6 – National Security, the ATF intends to solicit directly to local companies without publishing the solicitation on SAM.GOV. The companies have already been identified.

This announcement constitutes the only notification of the ATF’s intent to solicit. A formal combined synopsis/solicitation will not occur. All solicitation communication will occur directly with the contractors. This acquisition is for a commercial item or service and is conducted under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13—Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12—Acquisition of Commercial Items. It is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The notice of award and the written justification will be posted after award.

Proposed Contractors: Local authorized Lenel resellers/installers. Will not be disclose due to National Security. The intended period of performance for each Purchase Order is one (1) year from date of award.
