The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale two (2) items of standing timber on approximately 306 acres within four (4) separate harvest blocks at Fort A.P. Hill, Bowling Green, VA 22427 of which approximately the following volumes to be harvested: The sales are sold per Item by unit, harvested timber will be sold by WEIGHT by the ton.
Item 1 - TIMBER IN 2 BLOCKS (228 ACRES) PINE SAWTIMBER – 5389 Tons PINE CHIP N SAW – 856 Tons PINE PULPWOOD – 2804 Tons OAK SAWTIMBER – 6778 Tons POPLAR SAWTIMBER – 2617 Tons MISC. HARDWOOD SAWTIMBER – 600 Tons HARDWOOD PULPWOOD – 3599 Tons Tons of Chips (optional) – 12649 Tons Item 2 - TIMBER IN 2 BLOCKS (78 ACRES) PINE SAWTIMBER – 1908 Tons PINE CHIP N SAW – 85 Tons PINE PULPWOOD – 1443 Tons OAK SAWTIMBER – 1893 Tons POPLAR SAWTIMBER – 666 Tons MISC.
HARDWOOD SAWTIMBER – 91 Tons HARDWOOD PULPWOOD – 1034 Tons Tons of Chips (optional) – 3976 Tons Contract Period of Performance: Item # one (1) Block # one (1), TA-5CA, 30 Acres – All harvest operations including tree felling, skidding, processing at the log deck and hauling shall be complete prior to 1 April 2027, final site rehabilitation activities of this item shall be complete by 15 April 2027. No tree cutting 1 April to 30 September.
Temporary closeout of skid trails shall occur if equipment will be moved either offsite or to a different log deck or if a severe storm event generally exceeding two inches (2”) of liquid precipitation occurs or is anticipated to saturate soils.
Item # one (1) Block # two (2), TA-05C-25, 198 Acres – All harvest operations including tree felling, skidding, processing at the log deck and hauling shall be complete prior to 1 April 2027, final site rehabilitation activities of this item shall be complete by 15 April 2027. No tree cutting 1 April to 30 September.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 1:00 p.m. Thursday 11 September 2025 by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal section, Real Estate District Forester at Environmental Resources Office (DPW) Building 1406 18125 Rendezvous Drive Fort Walker, Bowling Green, VA, and then opened publicly. Forms for use in submitting bids are attached within this posting as an Invitation for Bid link as a pdf file.
