Notice of Intent to Sole Source Purchase Handheld Backscatter Xray Imager 1. Introduction The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order for the Handheld Backscatter Xray for the Omaha Field Division. 2. Authority This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of FAR 12.102 soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT).

3. Description of Requirement Item/Service: Handheld Backscatter Xray Imager 4. Justification for Single Source The required X-ray Imager by Videray Technologies, Inc. is the only known equipment that meets the agency’s specifications for size, spectrum, and level of detection necessary to effectively analyze contents within concealed compartments encountered in daily enforcement operations, including the ability to manage the specific density of concealed compartments, boxes, traps, and other illicit means of concealment.

5. Response Instructions This is not a request for quotes, and a solicitation will not be issued. Interested parties may submit a capability statement for consideration by the agency.
