GRETA Shipping Insurance

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting market research into shipping insurance options for a very expensive and unique scientific instrument. The Gamma Ray Energy Tracking Array instrument (GRETA) is nearing completion. This instrument represents over a decade of development and a significant investment of time and resources. Once completed, GRETA will be moved from the current location at LBNL to the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams at Michigan State University. Damage from a transportation mishap could be catastrophic to this project, so the possibility of insuring this shipment is being investigated. Please see the attached RFI document for details.
