Description

As published on SAM.gov.

The University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the capabilities and experience necessary to fabricate and deliver forged aluminum castings in support of the High Field Test Facility Dipole project (TFD). A key component of the TFD project are the aluminum shells, which will contain a superconducting magnet assembly.

Each of these shells must be fabricated from a single large forged aluminum casting in the shape of a cylinder, which is described in the attachments. LBNL is seeking a domestic source for the castings. LBNL drawing number DF-1001-0333A demonstrates the TFD shells that will be fabricated from these castings.
