Schindler Elevator Operation, Maintenance and Repair Services

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole-source contract with Schindler Elevator Corporation for the operation, maintenance and repair of NRC's proprietary Schindler Miconic TRX5 w/VF88 Power Factor One Drive elevators operating in NRC's Two White Flint North (TWFN) Building.

Schindler Elevator Corporation is the only source that can provide the required operation, maintenance and repair for the elevator systems that are operating in the NRC's TWFN Building as the software provided in the equipment is proprietary to Schindler and they solely own the tools to service and diagnose the equipment.

The period of performance will consist of a one-year base period plus four option years, beginning on July 6, 2024.The authority to enter into a sole-source contract with Schindler Elevator Corporation is provided under 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, which provides for limiting competition in those situations where the supplies or services are available from only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements.
