Description

As published on SAM.gov.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole-source contract with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for public transit services and a method to pay transit subsidy costs for NRC employees eligible for the federal transit benefit. As the operator of the Washington Metrorail System and the sole provider of transit subsidies in the Washington metro area, WMATA is the only entity that can facilitate the NRC employee transit subsidy program.

The contract term will be a one-year base period plus four option years, starting on July 1, 2024. The authority to enter into a sole-source contract with WMATA is provided under 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, which provides for limiting competition in those situations where the supplies or services are available from only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements.
