Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Safety Rail Source KeeGuard Railing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Safety Rail Source LLC for a custom KeeGuard Railing free-standing, non-penetrating roof edge fall protection system (quantity 1 EA). This procurement is required for the NIOSH campus in Spokane, WA where the roof on a particular building has no fall protection. As such, there is a need to purchase a fall protection device that will meet OSHA requirements.

Because of the roof design of a metal pan deck with lightweight concrete infill, installing a penetrating roof rail system would be near impossible without engineering a new roof system. The only option to meet the requirement is a non-penetrating cantilever design continuous roof rail system. The KeeGuard Railing free-standing, non-penetrating roof edge fall protection systems have been determined to be the only viable solution available to meet this particular requirement.

These systems are manufactured in the United States by Safety Rail Source, LLC. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
