New MMG

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Biotage, LLC 10430 Harris Oak Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28269-7518. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 United States Code (U.S.C.)

1901 as set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)- Only One Responsible Source This purchase is for: Biotage, LLC equipment performing DNA preparations from E. coli pellets on the maxi, megs and gigaprep scale. The instrument needs a small footprint, capable of sitting on a normal bench top. The MMG is the only robotic system on the market capable of purifying plasmid of this quality and on this scale.

All other plasmid prep kits for plasmid purification on this scale require a vacuum manifold, and a large centrifuge, as well as a person to operate the equipment and perform the purification. Biotage, LLC and no other source of suppliers can provide genuine Biotage, LLC products.
