This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to:
(1) determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency’s requirements exists, (2) determine if commercial items suitable to meet the agency’s needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency’s requirements, and (3) determine the commercial practices of company’s engaged in providing the needed service or supply. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action.
Requirement: This notice is issued to identify sources capable of providing the following:
CGF-RG requires a ramp to drive a truck and boat trailer into the leased facility at 2611 Vo Tech Drive, Weslaco, TX 78596. Presently, the facility has a loading dock that does not allow such transit. At a minimum, the ramp would need to meet the following requirements: Provide and install a ramp to access a 14’ wide loading dock. Ramp shall meet the following criteria:
Size: 50’ run, 4’ rise, 16’ wide; Maximum 8% grade Load capacity: able to support minimum 26,000lbs (8,600 lb vehicle and 9,960lb boat & trailer)
Deck: Deck material as necessary to maintain traction in dry or wet conditions, in order to sustain forward progress on the ramp. Open bar traction grating, or similar.
Rails: High visibility hand rails, pedestrian height, spanning the entire length of the ramp on both sides.
Dock Plates: Dock plates shall be provided and fixed to both the ramp and loading dock to allow for unobstructed transit between the ramp and the dock. Material shall be diamond plate. Length shall be 14ft to match bay door opening. Plate width and gage shall be sufficient to bridge a maximum 4” gap with and able to sustain the specified load of the ramp without deflection. On-site verification will be required during installation to mount the ramp as close as allowable to the loading dock.
Material: All materials shall be suitable for sustained outdoor use without corrosion.
