Cutter Boat-Large (CB-L)(210/225) Arch Retrofit
70Z02324P93250001
US Coast Guard, HQ Contract Operations (CG-912)(000. Boat Building.
Awarded
$115,000.00 obligated so far on USAspending, September 27, 2024, contract 70Z02324P93250001
Description
As published on SAM.gov.
This is continuation of retrofitting CB-L arches to strengthen them to meet operational demands. The CB-L Arch is considered a highly specialized component of the CB-L, which is a highly specialized boat. The final configuration of the arch and the CB-L is the result of 4 years of development, testing, and refinement. MCM is uniquely positioned to complete the retrofit based on their experience with the first 20 retrofits they completed. To build the same expertise with a new contractor would be cost prohibitive as captured in the Market Research report associated with this action. The major elements that support this are:
developing fixtures to build replacement arches, experience in coordinating with local repair shops and Coast Guard cutters on both coasts, experience in completing the repairs (removal of all components and reinstallation), and preservation of warranty from the production contract.
