PROJECT NAME:

NORTH POINT PARKING LOT PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed scope of this project includes reconstruction of the pavement within a parking lot servicing the boat ramp in the North Point Recreation Area near Pickstown, South Dakota. The project will address deteriorated pavement and sub-base for the 98,000 square-foot parking lot on the east side of the North Bay just upstream of the Fort Randall dam on the Missouri River. The project will provide a new pavement surface for the parking area while maintaining the operational qualities of this popular summer boat launch area.

SCOPE OF THE WORK: The project will consist of removal of excavating the existing parking lot’s asphalt and base to a depth of 9.5-inches and placement of a 3.5-in asphalt pavement on 6-inches of aggregate base. Subexcavation work includes removing poor subgrade soils in the area. Parking lot slopes will match existing conditions with minor adjustments made to create an American Disabilities Act compliant handicap parking stall. A concrete pad for a dumpster and signing and striping are also included in the project. The parking lot will be closed during construction activities.
