Description
As published on SAM.gov.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awards contract 693KA825D00016 with Tony Baird Electronics, INC. located in Syracuse, NY. This award is up to an additional 4 years if all options are exercised. In accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is a notification to industry of the FAA's decision to contract with a single source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA.
This award is a noncompetitive set-aside to a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Tony Baird Electronics, INC. The FAA awarded this follow-on contract to the existing 693KA8-20-D-00005 Configuration Parts Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that expired June 14, 2025. The configuration parts are NEXCOM Phase 2 equipment rack components to be installed at various FAA Air/Ground Voice Communication facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS).
Air Traffic uses the Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) multimode digital Radios, installed in these equipment racks to communicate with aircraft and pilots. Any delay in the deployment of the radios will result in a reduction of the number of available Air Traffic channels and increases the likelihood of Air Traffic delays. The delays can reduce the number of flights by airlines and significantly increase costs to airlines operations.
The scope of the follow-on contract is to procure these configuration parts to build the fabricated equipment racks that are not commercially available. utilize single source procedures. This announcement is for informational purposes only and is not a Solicitation/Screening for Information Request/Request for Proposal. This award is to Tony Baird Electronics, INC. and is not available for full and open competition.
Note: FAR references cited in SAM.gov are not applicable to the FAA as the FAA has its own policies and guidance referenced in the AMS.
