AC Dynamometer

The purpose of this announcement is to notify industry that the FAA intends to release a letter Request for Quote for the AC Dynamometer under a Small Business Set-Aside to three small businesses that expressed interest to SAM Sources Sought Notice #692M15-24-RFI-dyno. The Government intends to procure these services pursuant to Acquisition Management System 3.6.1.3.2 “Prime Contracting with Small Businesses”.

The dynamometer, as described in the Sources Sought Notice, must be able to absorb rotational loads from aircraft engines up to 1000hp and 3500lb-ft of torque at engine speeds up to 3000RPM. The dynamometer must provide constant torque and constant power throughout a range of RPM, and the system must have bi-directional capabilities with the installation in a regenerative configuration.

Interested small businesses may contact Maria Wells, maria.j.wells@faa.gov no later than 30 August 2024, 5:00pm EDT to obtain a Request for Quote. Requests received after that date will not be honored.
