International Employer of Record Service

Argonne National Laboratory is one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Laboratories for advanced science and engineering research. The facility is operated by UChicago Argonne LLC via a Prime Contract. To achieve our mission of conducting world-class science, Argonne sources talent globally. Occasionally, we require the services of individuals who will live and work outside the United States; however, Argonne does not have a legal presence in any other country except the United States. Employer of Record (EOR) service is required to employ these individuals in a way that fully complies with applicable laws and regulations in those other countries.
