Description
As published on SAM.gov.
The General Services Administration (GSA), Great Lakes Region (Region 5), is seeking interest for Elevator demolition and installation of new elevator and associated equipment at the Paul Findley Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse. This project involves the replacement of two existing passenger elevators with new components to ensure safe and efficient operation. Most of the elevator components will be replaced with portions to remain and be incorporated and refurbished.
Doors, door frames, cab interiors, shaft lighting and cab lighting will all be updated. A new sump pit will be added to bring the shaft up to code. Additionally, there is architectural, mechanical, fire protection and telecom work related to the installation of these elevators such as the walls, ceiling and doors for the machine rooms. Mechanical ductwork in the penthouse will be re-routed away from the machine rooms. New two-way communication will be added to elevator lobbies.
As both elevators serve all the floors for the building tenants, this work requires the phasing of demolition and new operation/ approval of one elevator prior to the demolition and operation of the second elevator. The construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The performance period is 246 calendar days. The anticipated award date is before September 1, 2025. The NAICS code is 238290 with a small business standard of $22 million.
