Description

As published on SAM.gov.

VA has identified Cochlear Implants (CI) and Auditory Osseointegrated Implants (AOI) and related products/supplies/accessories as a continued requirement in support of both VA and the Department of Defense (DoD) approved medical facilities. Cochlear Implants and Auditory Osseointegrated Implants are currently provided through multiple firm-fixed price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.

These current contracts are managed by the Denver Logistics Service (DLS) and administered by the Commodities and Services Acquisition Service (CSAS) in support of the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Services (PSAS). The purpose is to define the requirements for Auditory Implant systems (CIs and AOIs), replacement parts and accessories compatible with CIs and AOIs to both the VA and DoD. The VA has identified OEM customized (prescription) implants, processors, wireless devices, and accessories. as preferred products for this contract. The objectives are to:

Establish multiple sole-source awarded contracts that can serve the entire United States and its territories for customized (prescription) auditory implants and repairs to eligible Veterans and beneficiaries using standardized ordering processes. Obtain quality products at a significant discount compared to the commercial market prices. Ensure availability and consistency of products for nationwide usage while integrating the DLS Remote Order Entry System (ROES) program for ordering.

VA Audiologists shall order auditory implant contracted line items through the national ROES. Improve operating efficiency throughout the VA. This contract will also allow for higher level of effective communication between the Government and the Contractor, which is essential for partnering for this performance-based contract to succeed. The success of this contract is mutually erected through good communication between the Government and the Contractor.

Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract(s) will be for a one-year base period and nine (9) one-year option periods. and will be used as a primary source by the VA. Other approved Government agencies are the Department of Defense (DoD) and Indian Health Services (IHS) will be authorized and able to procure contract line items by placing orders directly utilizing contractors’ commercial system.
