EMERGENCY Haz Waste Disposal

The Des Moines, IA VAHCS requires emergency Hazardous Waste Removal services. An anticipated service contract to be procured via Justification for Single Source Awards IAW FAR 13.106-1.

The contractor shall provide disposal, lab pack, transfer, and removal services for hazardous waste (including dual waste), pharmaceutical hazardous waste, and non-hazardous chemical waste, universal and other wastes, regulated medical waste (RMW) (to include bulk, sharps and trace-chemo/pathological), Controlled Substance Destruction Program (CSDP) waste from the Veterans Affairs Central Iowa Health Care System s (VACIHCS) main campus (3600 30th street, Des Moines, IA 50310).

The contractor shall provide disposal, lab pack, transfer, and removal services for hazardous, pharmaceutical hazardous and RMW (to include bulk and sharps) from the VACIHCS six out-patient locations (listed below) require waste removal. This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions.

This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source firm fixed price contract to the following contractor in support of Hazardous Waste Removal Services in support of VA Central Iowa Health Care System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310-1318 Anticipated award to made to:

NEIE MEDICAL WASTE SERVICES LLC 12 WEST MARKET STREET BLAIRSVILLE, PA 15717 UNIQUE ENTITY ID: XKA7FM3CLCX4 This action as applied to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(2), as implemented by FAR 6.302-2: Unusual and Compelling Urgency. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Market research revealed that NEIE Medical Waste Services LLC is the service provider for the hazardous waste removal services currently being utilized by Des Moines, IA VA Health Care System.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this service is 562910 (Remediation Services) and the Product Service Code (PSC) is S222 (Housekeeping Waste Treatment/ Storage). While this synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement.
