NOTICE OF ITENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22, located at 4811 Airport Plaza Dr., Suite 600 Long Beach, CA 90815 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Delivery Order under FAR Part 8, specifically FAR Part 8.405-6(a)(1)(B) and (C), Only One Available Source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 335999, Other Computer Related Services.

The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 6130, Converters, Electrical, Nonrotating. The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 600 Employees. The intended Contractor is BECTON, DICKINSON AND COMPANY (BD) dba CAREFUSION SOLUTIONS, LLC., located at 3750 TORREY VIEW CT SAN DIEGO, CA 92130. Place of Performance is the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System 11201 Benton Street Loma Linda, CA 92357-1000.

The medical center currently has requirement to continue their current CareFusion IV Pyxis Prep Subscription. The BD IV Pyxis Prep subscription for IV automation is proprietary to BECTON, DICKINSON AND COMPANY and it is currently being used throughout the Medical Center. BD Pyxis IV Prep, more specifically, is a workflow management system for intravenous (IV) medication. It's designed to help streamline the IV preparation process, which can be complex and prone to errors.

This system offers features like barcode verification, gravimetric or volumetric validation, and photo documentation to help ensure accuracy and safety in IV medication preparation. It also provides robust analytics to help manage and optimize the IV preparation process. The Current gravimetric scales and software is already in place, to maintain patient care, we will need to continue to lease from CareFusion.

Only CareFusion and their Field Service Technician Affiliates have the capabilities and authorization necessary to perform installation and maintenance services for Pyxis products. Performance of those services by any other party voids their warranty for the serviced products. This subscription will be for a Base Year + 4 Option Years. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored.

No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and compelling evidence that the responding company can provide the same items/services, and that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The interested parties bear full responsibility to ensure complete transmission and timely receipt. The Department of Veterans Affairs will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent.
