Ophthalmic Ultrasound Imaging System and Photocoagulation Laser

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Services: The Northern California Health Care New Outpatient Clinic has the need for an Ophthalmic Ultrasound Imaging System, and a Photocoagulation Laser and its associated components. The Integre ProScan has specific functions required by Eye service clinic such as the choice of multi-wavelengths, ergonomic slit lamp design, ad preprogrammed lenses for improved clinic workflow.

The eye service clinic has specifically requested for the Integre system from Lumibird the manufacturer to provide standard continuity of care with other existing Lumibird products. There are no other substantially equivalent systems offered on the market by any manufacturer that can meet the needs of the Eye services clinic. VA NCHCS currently has the Lumibird Tango Laser, which is a combined SLT and YAG laser to help treat patients with glaucoma.

The Tango is used at our various sites across Northern, CA and was also recently purchased by SAC/NX for the Stockton CBOC. The requested Integre Pro Scan laser can not only treat with photocoagulation laser but can also diagnose with the scanning capabilities of the patients’ fundus. The Tango and Integre Lasers are both maintained by Lumibird FSE for the annual preventative maintenance, and both can be addressed simultaneously which will help reduce cost to the government.
