Therefore, this is a notice of intent issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs to negotiate a limited source contract with Thermao Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments Inc. for Emergency Procurement of Tru-Narc Detection System. The Edward Hines Jr.

VA Medical Center, Hines Police Service, Criminal Investigator is seeking to purchase two (2) separate Brand Name Only Trunac hand-held laser devices. The devices have the capability to detect up to 150 different types of narcotics, from pill form to a powdery substance. The laser devices will assist in the safety and welfare of the veterans and staff. The proposed action is IAW FAR 13.106-1(b) Single Source Awards.

Information received in response to this special notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to not compete the proposed acquisition is wholly within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for paying on any costs incurred and/or associated with the development of any responses submitted to this notice.
