Replace Emergency Lighting Batteries

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, NCO 10 intends to negotiate a sole source delivery order under FAR Part 13. The VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI will be purchasing Emergency Lighting Batteries, as a Sole Source procurement.

The purchase will include the following items: Quantity Part Number Description 26 Each 115776 BAT, CSB XPL8000FT Job SVC-SCL Labor - Service call Freight This specific equipment is needed for the following reasons: This Brand Name Only equipment, CSB XPL8000FT, is the only model that will work with the current Emergency Lighting System.

This system is proprietary, and ALL items can only be provided by the OEM; utilizing any other brand of equipment will nullify all warranties and CSB s guarantee of proper operation of their equipment. The risk of disfunction and damage to the existing equipment will put patients at risk of not receiving quality care at the VA facility.

The associated NAICS code for this procurement is 335311. The vendor will be Trystar, LLC, 15765 Acorn Trail, Faribault, MN 55021. A firm fixed price Delivery Order with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.

It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
