This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, WJB Dorn VA Medical Center, located 6439 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC 29209 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Purchase Order under FAR Part 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items: The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901 and is implemented for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2).

The WJB Dorn VA Healthcare System requires the purchase of a Axioimager M2 Microscope, configured with Neurolucida 360© and Stereo Investigator as part of a complete system. MBF Bioscience is the sole manufactures and distributor of the Neurolucida 360 © system.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is, 334516. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 6640. The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 1,000 Employees. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals.
