INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Ophthalmoscope Simulator

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 intends to complete a sole source award to Corps Medical Supply, LLC (CMS) to acquire proprietary Ophthalmoscope Simulators for training purposes on behalf of the Durham VA Medical Center located at 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705. Market research has shown that the Haag-Streit Ophthalmoscope Simulator is a unique training device for eye surgery and no similar product has been found to be commercially available from any other supplier.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can provide Ophthalmoscope Simulators and associated products may give written notice to Charlsi.Brooker@va.gov by 29 May 2024 at 3:00PM EDT. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement.

All interested and capable respondents to this notice shall include company name, address, point of contact, phone number, System for Award (SAMs) Unique Entity Id Number, manufacturer authorization letter, authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller documentation. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
