The purpose of this amendment is to post answers to questions received. Due date for quotes is NOT extended the due date remains Friday, 4/26 at 3:00pm.
Q1) Will the air separator need to be replaced? A1) Yes, the air separator will need to be replaced with a 2-1/2 model with a high-capacity air vent to prevent a bottleneck of flow. Q2) Can copper pipes be used? A2) Yes, soldering copper 2 ½ piping is acceptable in lieu of using 2 ½ steel. Q3) Is control wiring required? Q4) Yes, as per the last bulled point under misc. consumable to complete the project, please make sure control wiring is included in your quote.
This will allow the new piping system to talk to the existing front end. Q4) Are separate strainers for each pump required? A4) Yes, in-line pump detail with components will be installed with separate strainers for each pump so they can be serviced individually and not require a shutdown in the future. Q5) Are ball valves required? A5) Yes, please provide and install two (2) new 2 ball valves to separate the existing heating water system from the new system. Q6) When can work be performed? A6) Work can be performed between 8pm-8am if desired. However, if outside temps are 55-60 degrees at 8am, then completing the work during the day is preferred.
