Intent to Sole Source: Cable Services-Cequel Communications for the Beckeley VAMC

This intent to sole source announcement is posted in accordance with FAR 5.2- Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions.

Background: The purpose of this requirement is to provide Beckely VA Medical Center with cable television services for patient use televisions.

Objective: Contractor shall provide limited basic and expanded basic cable television services for approximately 150 locations through-out the Beckley VA Medical Center in accordance with the attached Statement of Work (SOW) (See attached copy of SOW)

Unique Qualifications: Cequel Communications LLC, has provided cable service to Beckley VA Medical Center and is the current service provider. The cable lines are all owned by Cequel Communications LLC, and they are the only carrier of landline services for the entire city of Beckley. The Beckley VAMC is in a rural geographic location that limits cable and internet providers who are not allowed to install any equipment to the building such as satellites therefore further limiting our pool of qualified vendors. There are no other companies in this surrounding area that can provide cable services.

Award Information: Solicitation No. 36C24525Q0348 will be presented to the contractor in accordance with the sole source authority at FAR 6.302-1 as a firm fixed-price contract. The period of performance shall be for one base year. The anticipated Period of Performance reads as follows:
