This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs Lyons VAMC intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Sole-Source Brand Name only action to:

2 W Walnut ST City, State, Zip: North East, MD 21901-04132, United States The contractor shall remove and replace the Medical Grade Air Compressor, replace Filter Heads to the medical air system, and remove and replace gauges and switches in Bldg.1 basement. Contractor will run all necessary wiring and all material necessary to accomplish the services as described in the statement of work (SOW). The Medical Air System condition is critical.

If the compressor and filters are not serviced, water will begin to accumulate in the tanks. This could damage the airlines and potentially injure veterans or staff members. This is a safety hazard, that needs immediate attention. Because of the current condition of equipment on hand, the entire campus currently does not have medical air. It is crucial that we get this repaired as soon as possible due to safety of the veterans and staff members.

So, it is imperative that we sole source to Tekton C.C, LLC for the reason getting the medical air system up and running at full operation. This is a Emergency Procurement. This notice of intent to sole source with justification for brand name only satisfies the public posting requirements of FAR 13.501. The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels.
