SMART WASTE & RECYCLING RECEPTACLES

Special Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price purchase with Big Belly Solar, LLC 150 A Street Suite 103, NEEDHAM HEIGHTS, MA 02494-2824 USA for ten (10) Solar Waste-Recycling Receptacles. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.

The proposed action shall be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 332439 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. The product is a smart waste and recycling system with a proprietary monitoring system, to include solar-powered compacting and non-compacting public space receptacles with data collection and monitoring capability for waste and recycling operations.

The medical center requires a streamlined waste management solution for indoor and outdoor use, fully enclosed, large capacity, fullness indicator, foot pedals for hands-free operation, without the use of AC electricity. Information received from firms as a result of this notice will be considered for support of the Government s determination to support of a non-competitive strategy. A determination not to compete this proposed order based on responses to this notice will be made at the discretion of the Government.
