Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the purchase of SomaScan Service-Aptamer Based Proteomics Assay

This Notice of Intent to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) on behalf of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) Influenza Division (ID).

NCIRD/ID has a requirement to assess the differences in the plasma proteome of 32 clinical samples from breakthrough infections and age- and sex-matched controls from Vaccine Efficacy studies utilizing 11K array of Somascan platform. SomaScan is a high-throughput, aptamer-based proteomics assay designed for the simultaneous measurement of thousands of proteins with a broad range of endogenous concentrations. In its most current version, the 11k SomaScan assay is capable of measuring 11,000 human proteins. The intended recipient of this purchase order is:

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Genomics, Proteomics, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Center, and Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Cancer Proteomics Core in Boston, Massachusetts 02215. This order is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 10 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
