Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Ohio State University - Testing of Parenterally administered live Attenuated Rotavirus

The objectives of this project are to test a live attenuated human rotavirus vaccine for safety and protective efficacy against a heterologous rotavirus challenge in gnotobiotic piglets. The vendor shall provide the facility and all labor, materials, and assays required to complete the tasks outlined below:

Contractor shall prepare protocols and number of gnotobiotic piglets required for study Contractor shall perform inoculation of vaccines, monitor animals daily for clinical signs, and collect blood and fecal specimens, perform laboratory analyses, including virus shedding in fecal specimens utlilizing validated assays Contractor shall perform comprehensive data analysis, provide a final report, and help CDC scientist prepare a manuscript for publication Currently no other vendor, has shown the ability to provide the full array of services needed for this procurement in the time allotted, excluding Ohis State University.
