The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) herein issues solicitation 15BFA025Q00000257 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Repair Sewer Line at the Metropolitan Correctional Complex (MCC) Chicago, located in Chicago, Illinois. MCC Chicago is a federally owned facility located at 71 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The project consists of the following:

The Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago has a construction requirement for repairing a sewer line. The work includes replacing approximately 75 linear feet of existing 8" clay sewer line with 8" x 8" heavy cast iron pipe. The repair site is located in a secured, GSA-operatedcourtyard and requires precise utility locating, excavation to a depth of 6 feet, trench shoring, and protective barricades. All pavers and landscaping materials will be removed and restored to original condition upon completion.

Work must be performed with minimal downtime; MCC will coordinate institutional water shutdown and restoration. The sewer system must be tested and backfilled upon successful completion. All work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The performance period for the project will be 38 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. Contractor is required to attend a pre-work meeting in order to coordinate and plan with the on-site staff prior to the day of work.

Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $100,000 and $250,000 (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range.
