Notice of Intent to Sole Source

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Only one responsible source and no other supply or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Field Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to enter into a sole source fixed price contract with Henry P. Thompson Company, LLC, the Auhorized Representative of JWC Envirnomental, for an upgraded Auger Monster System to replace the previous version. The auger monster plays a critical role in the screening and handling of wastewater sewage.

The new system will fit the current footprint, enhance operational efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and maintain consistency of operations. The work will be provided to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, located at the United States Penetentiary (USP) McCreary in Pine Knot Kentucky. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b).

The anticipated award date is April 9, 2025. This notice is being posted to meet the requirements of FAR subpart 5.2. A solicitation will not be posted; however, any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contract Specialist within 7 days of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to provide comparable equipment, installation, certification and training.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered. However, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
