Notice of Intent This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a capability statement by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center (GMEG) intends to award a purchase order to PerkinElmer US LLC, due to proprietary rights and is the only vendor with access to proprietary information and parts for the maintenance, and if necessary, the repair and replacement of worn and damaged components.

It is also the only vendor certified for technical support, upgrades, and engineering resources to maintain the original operating specifications for its instruments and has factory trained engineers available to service GMEG¿s Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrophotometer (ICP-MS) NexION 2000 Model C, serial No. 815N0042701C.

Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Responses submitted by hardcopy or the SAM.gov portal shall not be accepted or considered.
