Malvern Panalytical Multipurpose Diffractometer Maintenance Agreement

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a noncompetitive purchase order to Malvern Panalytical Inc (Malvern), located in Westborough, Massachusetts, for a service and maintenance agreement for an Empyrean X-ray diffractometer with i-Core optical module, located in Reston, Virginia. The period of performance will be date of award through 04/12/2027. There are no option periods.

Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source, Malvern is the only source reasonable available for this requirement because Malvern is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the diffractometer, and the only authorized service provider. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS.

The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). Responses must be emailed to Daniel (Dan) Galvin at dgalvin@usgs.gov. The NAICS code is 811210 Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The size standard is $34 million. The anticipated award date of the contract is 02/18/2026. The anticipated contract will be fixed-price. A vendor must be registered at https://sam.gov/content/home to be awarded the purchase order.
