SMB 30' Debarkation Ladder HB

PURPOSE: Replace broken and aged Embarkation/debarkation Ladders on NOAA Ship Henry Bigelow. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Three 3 30 ft synthetic embarkation/debarkation ladders USCG-approved IAW 46 CFR163.003 and complies with standards from the international convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 as amended 1983 Chapter V, Safety of Navigation – Regulation. Four stainless steel thimbles spiced 18 inches above the top step on each ladder on the tie ropes. Must include six stainless steel 1-inch shackles for rigging.

Rope: 2-1/4 in circ. (3/4in dia.) 3-strand soft feel polyester ropes over a core of color that contrasts with the ultra-strong ropes to eliminate bounce and act as an early warning of wear (14,310lbs Min Breaking Strength) Steps must be buoyant high impact elastomer ultraviolet resistant safety impregnated and must have internal tubular internal collar reinforcement. Each step must be coated with non-skid abrasive grit and set back from the edges to eliminate cutting of the hands while rigging the ladder on deck. Must roll for stowage easily for stowage and not have any metal ends that can chip or damage decks or hull.
