NWS Commercial Aircraft Based Observations Data Buy Support

THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division (EAD), on behalf of the National Weather Service (NWS), is soliciting for Meteorological Data and Reporting System (MDCRS) data.

NWS seeks provision of wind and temperature profiles from the surface to cruise level via MDCRS or a substantially similar paradigm, meeting the annual requirement of three million vertical profiles, with about half over the continental United States and half over international regions including South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa; and Automated Data Surveillance, or a substantially similar paradigm, for en-route observations over wind and temperature along transcontinental flights over the oceans.

The Government intends to establish a commercial Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) provisions, for three one-year ordering periods. Please see attached synopsis for more information.
