This requirement was awarded to Rees Scientific as the original equipment manufacturer for the Rees Scientific temperature monitoring system that automatically monitors the temperature of all freezers, refrigerators and key room temperatures constantly, alerts key staff members when a node detects a temperature out of range. This system requires annual testing and calibration.
Reese Scientific is the only company to service their temperature monitor system as the equipment is still under warranty and vital to the mission of the Command. This award is a Base plus 4 option years. The statutory exception permitting other than full and open competition for this acquisition is 10 USC 2304(c) (1) (as implemented by FAR 6.302-1) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
