Solicitation number 12639526Q0305  is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Grasshopper Chemical Supply Purchase.  Under the guidance of Section 417 of the Plant Protection Act of 2000, USDA (including APHIS) plays a coordinating role between Federal agencies, State agricultural departments, and private ranchers to control both grasshoppers and Mormon crickets. Grasshopper and Mormon cricket bait is bought based on the forecast of PPQ pest activity and hazard mapping. Idaho APHIS PPQ Treatments: The 2024 and 2026 Idaho Environmental Assessment requires the use of Wilbur Ellis 2% Carbaryl Pelletized bait for treatments of Grasshoppers and Mormon Crickets.
