Final Supplement 509 Alaska Pollock Products

The Agricultural Marketing Service has posted a Final 509 Supplement for Alaska Products, November 2024. Primary updates include:

expanded on the Audit Base Grading requirements by NOAA; updated QAD contact information; spelled out "NOAA"; added product shall be produced under FDA regulations; added finished shipping label needs only one NOAA insignia (Grade A Shield); added if a raw material block is not identified with a PUFI mark, suppliers must provide documentation that product meets PUFI requirements; added product weights must be determined by the contractor and quality assurance steps to verify weights must be described in the TP (reworded); added verification of weights will be determined by the contractor and described in the technical proposal; defined End product & On-line determination as listed in section 425.5.2; renamed IQF section as "State of Refrigeration"; defined storage requirements as stated in the Commercial Item Description for Sticks & Nuggets under section 5.2.8.
