Prospectus for Granger-Thye Concession Day Use Site for Boat Rentals at Lake Sherwood Monongahela National Forest

SEE UPDATED VERSION DATED 01/17/2024. Due to weather rescheduling the site visit to 24 Jan at 1100 and applications are now due 16 Feb by 4:30 PM EST. This prospectus is being issued to solicit applications for a concession day use site special use permit. A permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of the Government-owned Boat Rental facilities located on the Marlinton-White Sulphur Ranger District, Monongahela National Forest, will be issued.

The permit will include the following developed site: Lake Sherwood Boat Rental. The Lake Sherwood Recreation Area is located adjacent to Lake Sherwood, a 165-acre man made lake. The area is located ten miles northeast of Neola, WV, on WV Highway 14. The Marlinton-White Sulphur Ranger District is in the southern portion of the Monongahela National Forest. Lake Sherwood Recreation Area, located at 2,700-foot elevation, is in a mixed forest of oak, hickory, maple, and pine.
