The USDA-ARS requires laboratory nutritional analysis services to support two research projects involving insect nutrition and honey nutrient profiling. The analyses will provide quantitative data on proximate composition, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids, sugars, and related nutritional parameters for:

  1. Enhanced Mediterranean fruit fly diet samples and fruit fly insect samples; and
  2. Mono-floral honey samples collected from major honey-producing floral sources in Hawaiʻi.

The results will be used to evaluate nutritional quality, compare sample types, and support research related to insect rearing, endangered bird nutrition, and characterization of Hawaiʻi mono-floral honeys.
