Project Title: Hiner Pit Crushing and Stockpiling, White River National Forest, Colorado Project Summary: The White River National Forest may issue a Solicitation for crushing and stockpiling of approximately 10,000 - 20,000 Cubic Yards of Surface Course Aggregate (FP-14 Table 703-3). This is not a solicitation and in no way commits the Government to award a contract.

The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective vendors may see the areas prior to heavy snowfall and issuing the solicitation.

This solicitation should be issued in February or March of 2025. The work anticipated under any contract resulting from the solicitation will be started as soon as conditions on-the-ground are favorable for the prosecution of the work next spring (estimate Late June starting date).

Site Visit Information:

When: On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM a Forest Service site visit will be conducted, interested parties will meet at the Hiner Pit. Those participating in the site visit must furnish their own transportation. Please inform the White River Engineering Office (Bret Conant bret.conant@usda.gov) if you plan to attend by noon on October 8, 2024. The function of the Forest Service site visit is to show the on-the-ground location of the work areas, boundaries and other in-place markers, and the routes of travel that may be utilized in going to and from the work areas.

Directions and Access: The Hiner Pit is located off Forest Road 601.1 (Blair Mountain), approximately 1.12 miles South-East from the intersection of Forest Road 245.1 (Buford – New Castle). Latitude; 39.8374358, Longitude; -107.5649245 The pit is located behind a locked gate and may be viewed on the scheduled site visit, or "walk-in" would be required. Interested parties desiring to visit units on their own should coordinate travel with the White River Engineering Office (Bret Conant bret.conant@usda.gov).
