This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source. The USDA, Forest Service, Southern Research Station/Center for Bottomland Hardwoods/Stoneville, MS intends to sole source to award a purchase order to Smith-Root, UEI# PD45MS78A175 in accordance with FAR 13.5 – Sole source (including brand name) acquisitions. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations or proposals.

The size standard is 1,000 employees Period of Performance is from May 5, 2024, through June 6, 2024 Total Estimated Value $22,000.00 Salient Characteristics for consideration of similar items on a “Brand Name or Equal” basis: Backpack eDNA sampler Minimum flow rate 0.1 L/min >90% at 0.1 L/min or higher flow GPS with 2.5 m accuracy Logs data on flow rate and amount of water sampled 6 to 8 hr battery life Can take 2 or more samples at once.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary.
