Notice of Intent This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to award a purchase order to Desert Research Institute (DRI) for 10Be cosmogenic radionuclide analyses in mineral samples using AMS. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
This work is also a continuation of ongoing research covered by previous contracts with DRI. During the course of previous research, DRI was made aware of the possibility of a rare type of excess Beryllium and have established modified procedures for this mineral. DRI is the only laboratory that can process the types of samples (dirty, low quartz) that we require with the custom processing steps and analyze these samples to ensure continuity of data for these projects.
