Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source - Equipment Maintenance

The Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) Contracting Branch, Medical Readiness Contracting Office – West (MRCO-W), Army Health Contracting Activity, MEDCOM, JBSA Ft. Sam Houston, Texas 78234, intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price, sole source contract to Becton, Dickinson and Company under the authority of FAR 16.507-6(b)(2), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), only one source reasonably available, urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization.

This requirement is for the annual maintenance of (2) Beckman Dickinson automated microbiology systems in support of Department of Pathology and Laboratory (DPALS) located at BAMC. Award will be on or around 3 August 2026. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 811210, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The Small Business size standard is $34 Million. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.

No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part of any subsequent solicitation requirement. No telephonic inquiries will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for competitive proposals.

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract for equipment maintenance to BAMC. The Contracting Officer determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonable available. The BAMC Contracting Branch at MRCO-W, intends to make a sole source award to Becton Dickinson and Company, BD Life Sciences – Diagnostic Systems, 7 Loveton Circle Sparks, MD 211527.
